Discrimination and Civil Rights
Forthcoming Scholarship
Forthcoming scholarship: McGregor Smyth, an NYCPR Advisory Board member and the Managing Attorney of the Civil Action Practice and Director of Reentry Net at the Bronx Defenders, has been awarded a writing grant. His article will outline a methodology for civil legal providers to identify, evaluate, and mitigate the collateral damage from criminal proceedings. The breadth of these collateral consequences is daunting, and they are often hidden from view, scattered across federal, state, and local statutes, regulations, and administrative policies and practices. The methodology will bridge traditional divides in civil legal work.
